Matthew Powell is an internationally recognized ballet master and choreographer, and is currently a professor at Point Park University in Pittsburgh.

His professional teaching and choreographic credits include the Golden Globe nominated television show, ‘Flesh and Bone,’ The Juilliard School, Royal New Zealand Ballet, Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre, Slovak National Ballet, the Broadway production of ‘Billy Elliot’ and more.

Students Matthew has had the privilege to work with have danced with American Ballet Theatre, New York City Ballet, Beyoncé, and numerous Broadway productions including Wicked, Hamilton, The Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, Cats, and more.

Matthew is additionally a columnist for Dance Informa Magazine, and freelances as a guest teacher and motivational speaker.
